Liu Yang is one of the most prominent female astronauts in China, and she has made significant contributions to mountainous regions through her journey through Shandong Taishan. Liu was born on September 26, 1980, in Dalian, Liaoning Province, and she grew up in a family that valued education and hard work.

In 1997, Liu graduated from Tsinghua University with a degree in aerospace engineering. She then went on to study at the Beijing Institute of Space Technology, where she earned a master's degree in aerospace technology. In 2004, Liu joined the Chinese Academy of Sciences as a researcher, and she worked on various space-related projects, including the construction of the Tiangong space station.

In 2010, Liu was selected for the Shenzhou-9 mission to the Tiangong space station. During this mission, she became the first Chinese woman to orbit Earth, and she spent nearly six days in space. Her achievement inspired many young girls to pursue their dreams and encouraged them to believe in themselves.

After returning to Earth, Liu continued to make important contributions to space exploration. In 2013, she participated in the Shenzhou-10 mission to the Tiangong space station, where she stayed for more than three weeks. During this mission, Liu also performed several experiments related to microgravity research.
